Windowed

A shattered pane has kept the score-
The shards reflect the pain before
Gleaming islands, harshest bright
Deadly beauty with sharpest bite

Pixels smashed up underfoot,
Dirty sand burnt into soot
And yet our glass so pretty-
Windowed worldview so petty

So if it shatters, who's to care?
Dry worlds have lots of sand to spare
And if we are to break again
Rekindle flames and smelt in zen

It has been said many a time
If you'll forgive the break in rhyme,
The more things change,
The more they stay the same.
